• We’ve been counting forwards and backwards within 20, 50 and 100.

 

• We’ve started to learn about money.

“You get metal money and paper money.”

“Some money is worth more.”

We’ve been recognising coins and realised that just because a 2p is bigger than a 5p, a 5p is actually worth more because “there are 5 1ps in 5p and only 2 1ps in 2p.”

We’ve also began to exchange coins (up to the value of 10p)  E.g. 7p bottles of juice, 5p rubbers… Perhaps we could practise this at home too.

 

The introduction of self-assessment in our writing is helping us to identify our next steps…

Our new class visualiser is also allowing us to help each other learn. We can project our work onto the SMARTBoard and ask feedback.

 

 

“In STEAM  with Miss Gallagher we have been making things out of Lego,” thinking about the most suitable ways to meet these requirements.

 

 

We learned all about The Easter Story and we all tried our best to retell this story as a drawing…

 

“Jesus came on a donkey to the village. The priests were jealous because everyone loved Jesus. So the priests gave Judas money and Judas told them where Jesus was. Soldiers came and put Jesus on a cross. He died on the cross and they put him in a cave and covered the cave with a stone. His friend went to put flowers at the cave but an angel told her that Jesus was alive again. She told everyone and everyone was happy.”

It was lovely to see parents/carers at the recent parent consultations. We’ve had a super term in P1C and everyone deserves the holiday after all their hard work. Enjoy the break!
