King's Park Primary School

This Week in Nursery 11th-15th Sept

New Children

We are delighted to welcome our new children to the nursery. Transitions are tailored to the needs of the child; please discuss any information with your child’s key worker.

 Birthday sweets

Following feedback from parents last year we are now discouraging parents to provide sweets when it is their child’s birthday as there are birthdays frequently and parents felt this was too many sweets. We celebrate each child’s birthday by making a cake with them and sharing it with our nursery friends.

 Childsmile

As a Nursery we take part in the child smile programme and brush the children teeth at nursery. This is an OPT OUT programme, so if your do not wish your child to take part please let the nursery staff know.

 Parent helpers

We welcome parents’ to come in and help in the nursery. This could be on a regular basis, part of a session or a one off. There is a calendar located on the information board, so if you would like to help please add you name to this.

 Clothing

As part of the nursery day we have to offer the children a full range of experiences, inside and out, the children will therefore be able to access the garden in all weathers. Please can you ensure your child has a change of clothes with them every day, a waterproof jacket and wellies as you never know what the Scottish weather will bring! We do have a small stock of waterproof trousers and a couple of pairs of wellies, but if you could provide your child with their own, that would be great. Also, if you have any old wellies or waterproof trousers you no longer use and would like to donate them to the nursery this would be very much appreciated as well as socks, trousers, pants and shoes as our stock is running low.

Buggies

Please could I ask that you leave buggies in the nursery garden when coming in to collect your children. It has become increasingly congested and difficult for parents/ carers to get their children organised to leave nursery. There is a member of staff positioned at the door to watch over them if you wish.

 Security

When arriving or leaving the nursery (out with drop off or collection times) could you please make sure the door is properly shut and secure as well as the nursery gate, please close this behind you.

Collecting Children

When collecting your child, please could you go over to the coloured area rather than the children running to you in the cloakroom. This is to ensure that all children are collect by the correct person. Once you have collected your children, please ensure they post their name in the grey basket on your way out.

Nursery Closed

Please be aware that the nursery is closed on Friday 15th and Monday 18th of September

Thanks for your continued support, if you have any questions please let
