Nursery Learning

Thank you to everyone who managed to attend the school community event last week. We have has some really super feedback from you regarding the nursery display and how much the children have enjoyed taking part in the Emotion Works .

We will continue to work with the children regarding emotions and how our actions can make others feel . When we feel happy how wonderful this feels but also when we feel sad or upset. All our emotions are important and we all have them and they’re all okay!

Over the next few weeks we will of course be talking about Autumn with the children and this will include numeracy and literacy in the environment and in our play. If during the holidays you go out for a walk we would welcome contributions of conkers, acorns and leaves for the nursery.

We will start the forest school visits after the October break and look forward to extending the children’s learning even further in the natural environment. Our children are experiencing a great deal of outdoor play at the moment within the nursery and we will continue this throughout the winter months.

Learning this week has been very wide, some children still wanting to continue with Jack and the Giant but naturally now bringing this to its conclusion. Last week one of the children asked us, “Why are the mummies baking” we explained there had been a coffee morning in school. “We could do that!” he told us. So we will! At the end of October for Halloween we will have a spooky walk in the park and all dress up , followed by a cake sale and coffee in the nursery afterwards. If you can remember back to the bake sale we had last year they children loved this and so are already excited to do it again. Bringing Maths, social skills, emotions, manners and responsibility all into one enjoyable hour. We hope you can help us with contributions nearer the time. Thank you again for your amazing support this term.
