Forest Learning

Forest Kindergarten

Spring has finally sprung and summer is just around the corner. We have a busy term ahead with reports, consultations, trips and the transition to school for our oldest children. As a result of this we want to inform you that the Forest Kindergarten schedule will be running as a flexible programme to accommodate other events.

The feedback we have received from both parents and children has been extremely positive and we value the impact that the programme has had on the learning and development of the children, with this in mind we will continue to get out as often as possible but not on the set days as before.

Clothing

Please can you ensure that your children come to nursery dressed appropriately for outdoor play everyday. If they are not visiting the woods they will still have access to the garden. The loan of the waterproof suits, from Playbase Midlothian, is coming to an end. If your child has their own waterproofs and boots please ensure they are in their nursery bag. We have applied for funding to purchase clothing, rucksacs and boots for next term. Fingers crossed that our application is successful.

Adult Helpers

Would you like to come to the woods with us?  Adult helpers would be warmly welcomed and help us to visit the woods more often.  Sign up in nursery or speak to Mrs Paterson.
