King's Park Primary School

Children’s Learning

This week the staff have used provocations with the children about Autumn and we chose the story of the Owl Babies to promote some storytelling from the children. They had a lovely time setting up a display and chatting with one an other about the story.  Using their own ideas and imagination to extend the story and create a new ending. Mrs Rao took the children on an adventure through the nursery retelling the story with the children using props and musical instruments.

Other learning taking place has been around the changes in our world just now and how Autumn affects the animals. Talking with the children about hibernating animals and also how the animals are now finding and storing food to see them through the cold winter.

We have made our own pizza this week which the children really spent a good deal of time chatting and learning about all the aspects and ingredients it takes to make homemade pizza.
