Another busy week learning at King’s Park Nursery.

Great excitement in nursery this week. Our Giant came back from his holidays! The children were very excited to hear he had left them a letter:

Dear Boys and Girls of King’s Park Nursery
I would like you to know I have returned from my holiday to the beach. During this time I have had time to think about how I have been behaving and my feelings. Jack and I have had a chat together and we have decided that we have not been very kind to one another by keeping all the gold coins to ourselves. Jack and I are now good friends and have decided to share our fortune with you.
We have hidden all our gold coins in nursery garden and all of you need to work together to find them and place them in the baskets.

The children had such a fun time searching, working together to find the coins and sharing them with each other. Making sure if a friend hadn’t yet found one they helped.

Lots of work around measurement and number work this week, some of the children have measured each other to see who is the tallest.
In addition to loose parts children’s experiences have also included transient art. Use of loose parts to create a picture in a frame. One little girl told me “I made An Alien, he’s called Peter and he’s fishing”
