It has been lovely to welcome you all back to nursery after the Christmas and New Year break. The children have been so excited to share their stories of their Christmas fun with us and it has been really fun listening to them.
We have welcomed some new children to the groups and look forward to a few more new faces joining us over the next month.
The children have enjoyed setting back into the routines of nursery and have been particularly interested in Den building and the loose parts area since their return. Lots of dancing and role play.
There has been a great deal of interest in jigsaw puzzles and the art and mark making areas have been very busy with the children keen to create musical instruments, develop early writing skills and painting amazing pieces of art.
Children continue to be very keen on model making and we would love if you could continue collecting boxes and tubes for us.
You may have noticed that we have renovated the borrowing Library area in nursery. The children were finding using this area a little difficult as there were so many books available at once. We have scaled back the books and sectioned off the shelves into groups with the children. This makes it much easier for them to see and choose the book they would like to take away. We discussed what we could do on the walls and decided that a landscape scene that the children can develop and contribute to was a good option. We have already been told to add a tree! Some fairies and some twinkling stars!
We have also made a small area in the book library with a space for the computer so the children will have access to develop their IT skills if they wish to.
We would welcome you to borrow books from the library any time and please open the cupboards to access the books we have stored away too. If you are at all unsure please as a member of staff. We are happy to take donations of books also.
