Easter Assembly Practice – P5a

This week in Primary 5A we have been practising our Easter assembly. We are learning a mime to the song ‘Amazing Grace’ as well as singing some other songs.

In grammar we continued to learn about collective nouns and made posters of our favourite ones. We also looked at singular and plural words.

In numeracy, we have been learning about fractions. The Pascal group have been learning about improper fractions and mixed numbers which are quite complicated. The other groups have been learning to find fractions of numbers by dividing by the number on the bottom and timesing by the number on the top. For example to find ¾ of 12 you divide 12 by 4 (3) and then times by 3 which equals 9.

We watched the end of the Victorian Diaries series where we learned about how difficult life was on the London streets, that trams were pulled by horses and that ladies used bathing carts to go into the sea.

With Miss Gallacher we have been learning about recent technology and inventions such as toys and mobile phones. We will use what we have learnt to design our own invention for the future.

We are delighted to have broken the Daily Mile record by winning our contest on Tuesday by 21 points!
