This week in Nursery

Forest Kindergarten

Monday am + pm:   Red Group + 3 children from Orange Group

Tuesday am+pm:  Green Group + 3 children from Orange Group

Wednesday am+pm: Blue Group + 3 children from Orange Group

Thursday am+pm:   Yellow Group + 3 children from Orange Group

(Past Friday morning sessions will now take place on Wednesday pm.)

Please make sure your child has their outdoor clothing for forest schools every day they attend nursery as there may be opportunity for additional visits to the woodland for your child, dependent on numbers.

We also offer outside education to the children in all weathers at the nursery.

Clothing for outdoor learning:

Warm socks

Wellington Boots

Wet suit (if they have their own) hat

Warm waterproof coat (old one if possible)

Lending Library

• We would really like to promote the Learning Library during this term and would invite you to ask staff regarding borrowing books from the library.

 

Independence Month

During this term we will be encouraging the children in developing their independence skills and would ask for your support with this both at home and in nursery during dropping off and collecting your children.

• We will be encouraging the children to put on their own coat, shoes and wellingtons.
• Also become more aware that they should be using the hooks in nursery to hang up their own coats.
• Encouraging them to look after their environment and keep the cloakroom area tidy.
• Being independent in these skills will aid their transition into primary one and give them confidence.

Our Learning wall

We would like to create a wall for the children showing how they achieve learning both at home and within nursery.

As the children have been using the word safe recently particularly in the forest kindergarten environment we are keen to create a SHANARRI wall but we really need your contributions from home as well.

It would be great if you could bring in photos of your child achieving “Safe” at home either inside or outside.  We will add this to the wall giving the children that vital link from home to nursery and visa versa.

Parent helpers

• If you would like to come and help in the nursery please add you name to the calendar available on the information board.
• We welcome parent helpers for both within nursery and to join us in the forest school both morning and afternoon.
• If you have a special interest or talent you would like to share with the children you would be most welcome

 

Snack

• Children have really enjoyed making their own bread so bread making will become a regular item in the snack area.
