This week in P1A we have enjoyed learning our new ‘special friend’ sounds.
“We have learned ‘ie’, ‘oa’ and ‘ai’ this week”.
“We have even created words with these sounds”. We used our frog called Fred to help us with this!
P1A have also loved writing about a time that they went to a party! We are all very proud of ourselves this week as we all worked so hard!
This week we were also learning about the emergency services. We have done some work on who you should call in an emergency.
“We have learned to call 999 if we need help from the police, an ambulance or the fire brigade.”
We have also talked about the importance in the children knowing how to call 999 on a phone (mobile or home phone) to receive help (and why we shouldn’t do this unless we really need help).
“Our favourite thing to do in numeracy this week was when we had to order numbers from smallest to largest”.
The children had some fun using the Smart board to share their results with the rest of the learners.
