This week we launched our visits to the forest for the children to explore and take their learning outside.
The children have had an amazing time each group gaining so many different experiences in the woodland.
Each day we have taken a small group out to the woods to explore and experience the freedom of learning outdoors. They have made a mud slide and had an enormous amount of fun climbing up and sliding down, supporting each other and helping those less able making sure their friends all take part. The children have discussed how to keep ourselves safe, how to help each other and how to take care of our environment. The staff taking part in the forest exploring and learning have been amazed at how the children have quickly adapted to the change in environment and are already taking a lead their learning in the woods. From Den building working as a team they made a wigwam from fallen branches, to using sticks for mark making and exploring rabbit holes.
Back in nursery the children have been exploring messy play using gloop, water and sand often mixing them all together!
There has been a lot of discussions about babies and rainbows!
The children are taking a trip around the world for snack time at the moment and this week they have been experiencing the food from India.
Children are also enjoying outdoor play each day and use of large equipment for motor skill development and social skills. Use of bats and balls has been very popular also.
