An Egg-citing Week in P5A

This week in P5A has been very egg-citing, because we have reading The Christmasaurus by Tom Fletcher and found out what happened to the egg in the story. We have found lots of examples of alliteration which is when a group of words start with the same sound (such as ‘polar bears playing ping pong’ and ‘fairies fish for fidgets’). We also played linky lizard by linking our real life experiences to things that are happening in the book, or other things that we have encountered in books or films. For writing, we wrote a letter to Snozzletrump’s Auntie Sprinklepuff to tell her about the dinosaur egg and how the Christmas preparations are going.

This week in maths we’ve been learning about perimeter and area and used our knowledge to draw a map of the North Pole Ranch from The Christmasaurus.

We played ‘The Bottle Game’ in P.E. We had to run around the tramlines in the gym hall when our number was called out in French, then get a beanbag and try to knock over a plastic bottle in the middle of the room to score a point.

We heard that Tim Peake was going to be on Newsround, so we sent in a question, asking if he could design a planet what would it be like and why?

Another thing we’ve been doing this week is practicing Christmas songs for our visit to the care home, in addition to practicing with the choir for our end of term service. We were delighted that Vilara was selected to sing a solo.

Hope you have a good weekend.

This week’s update was written by Jamie, Peter, Vilara and Zak.
