Citizens Advice Scotland helpline

The festive period is fun but once it’s over financial stress can increase. You may be left with extra bills to pay off or debts.

Citizens Advice can help. You can contact their advice helpline on 0800 028 1456. They’re open Monday – Thursday 9:00am to 3:00pm and Friday 9:00am to 12 noon. They can help with queries about employment, housing, debt, benefits, and consumer issues like energy bills as well as many other topics.

Get expert energy advice on keeping your home warm this winter

The Changeworks in Dalkeith project is hosting an Ask an Expert: Warmer Homes Clinic where you can speak to expert advisors from Home Energy Scotland. You can get support on feeling more comfortable at home and saving money on your energy bills.

·      9:30am to 12:30pm, Saturday 21 January at One Dalkeith (21 Eskdaill Court).

One of the advisors is also able to support households with more specialist queries such as those living in listed properties, in a conservation area, in a home built pre-1919 or who are interested in exploring renewable technologies.

Looking after your financial wellbeing

Do you know how to protect savings from future tax?

How to utilise workplace benefits to make your money go further?

Or even how small financial changes could potentially reduce your mortgage by years?

It’s never too soon to take control of your finances!

Affinity Connect is running a 90 minute course titled ‘Focus on Your Finances’ on the following dates:

·      Wednesday 22 November
