Primary 7 have been taking part in a variety of activities during a busy week. We were delighted that 30 of our pupils were able to represent King;s Park at the East Region Sportshall Athletics event. The event was held at Edinburgh’s Jack Kane Centre and they competed against Schools from Edinburgh, Scottish Borders, West and East Lothian. A link to an Edinburgh Evening News article on the event can be accessed at the following link Edinburgh Evening News Sportshall Article.
We have been taking part in a number of reading activities linked to the novel Private Peaceful. This text although set around World War 1 was a great link for the classes forthcoming study on World War 2. The reading activities focused on Primary 7’s deduction and inference reading skills.
We have also begun our Edinburgh Fringe Festival design challenge. We have been set the brief of using our knowledge of the Fringe Festival to create a poster that reflects the spirit of the Festival. The winning entry has the ultimate prize of being the front cover of the Festival Programme.
