Hi P6b,
I’m sad we won’t be able to be together as a class for the next wee while to do all the fun things we had planned for this term, but you will hopefully be able to do lots of the same activities at home. I’ve been really impressed with your attitude to home learning over the past few weeks and am really glad that I am still able to see your learning via Seesaw. Keep up the good work!
Numeracy and Maths:
This term we will be focusing on continuing to develop strategies in working with addition/subtraction/multiplication/division.
We will also be engaging with topic based maths from our village project such as area and perimeter, shape and budgeting.
We would also like children to make use of online learning resources such as Sumdog and Education City
Literacy:
This term In Reading we will be focusing on Finding and Using Information, as well as Enjoyment and Choice. We will write some persuasive and descriptive texts We will practice our spelling words each week using a variety of fun and creative activities. Listening and Talking activities will focus on mini presentations on Seesaw of completed work.
IDL Topic
Our IDL topic this term is ‘The Village’. Children will have letters to read and activities to complete based on the needs of a community and exploring environmental issues. We will look at maps and discuss transport and sustainability.
Health and Wellbeing
In Health and Wellbeing we will be looking at keeping ourselves safe and also looking after our emotional health. P.E. activities will be shared by Mrs Campbell each week. You might want to also use some of the online resources that are available i.e. Joe Wicks,
The children will practise their French with Mrs Lovett through online learning activities. Duolingo is also a useful App that you might want to download to help
Please let me know if you need any further information,
Miss Griffith
