World Cup 2018 and P5b

Weekly Update

Dear Parents and Carers,

On Monday we started our Kings Park’s Got Talent competition. This is where you audition with something you are really good at such as dancing, acting or singing and if you’re successful you get through to the semi finals. In our class, Rosie and Jack qualified with their comedy act, Amelie got through with her amazing acro and Caitlin, Rebekah and Cole all qualified with their singing. Liam also qualified with Dylan from P5a. Some people found auditioning quite nerve wracking but we are all very impressed with the talent in P5b!

The World Cup started off with a bang last night as Russia beat Saudi Arabia 5-0. In P5b this week, we have been looking in detail at the World Cup and have done some activities such as our numeracy mosaics, our country homework booklet and our predictions. Mr Cross gave us a sheet with all the games listed on it and we had to predict the scores. Nobody estimated that Russia would win so convincingly but hopefully we have more luck with our guesses in the future!

We have also been busy organising a pea arcade for the Primary 1s. A pea arcade is a fair but instead of using money we use dried peas instead. We have different stalls such as hoopla, the raffle and tin can alley. We have designed posters to advertise our stalls and we all know our role for next week.

Next week is the penultimate week of term! We look forward to finding out who our teacher will be in P6, performing our pea arcade to the Primary 1s and also watching the Kings Park’s Got Talent final. Have a nice weekend, enjoy the football!
