This week in P5A…we have been learning some amazing maths, literacy and Physical Education!
In maths we’ve been learning about how to make certain amounts of money using notes and coins. For example can you work out £6.58 using one note and eight coins? We also learnt that the = sign means ‘the same as’ and used this to balance questions on either side of it.
In reading we learned to compare and contrast by watching two different short videos ‘Dangle’ and ‘The Switch’ and wrote down the similarities and differences in our literacy jotters. For writing we were learning to write an imaginative story sensibly by using our planet design sheets to write about our imaginary planets. In topic, we worked in groups and used the ipads to create posters about famous astronauts such as Helen Sharman, Eileen Collins and Tim Peake.
In P.E. we have been learning how to play ‘Prisonball’ which is like dodgeball but with a jail. We had a team tournament with teams 1-4.
Next week we are looking forward to the Christmas Fayre, our Open Morning and Literacy and Languages week!
This week’s update was written by Anna, Ellie and Vilara.
