What a busy week back in P5A! We all really enjoyed our Easter holiday and spent Tuesday morning writing postcards about them. Miss Griffith then read them aloud and we played a mystery guessing game to work out who had written which postcard.
The highlight of our week was the arrival of a very important letter from the ‘Project Manager’ at ‘New Village Builds’ informing us that we have been selected to design a village in the Scottish Borders. Miss Griffith and Mr Cross have now chosen to make this our new topic. We began by discussing the needs and wants of a small village and then assigning each of our trios a different building to project manage. We learned about nets of 3D shapes in numeracy and then applied our knowledge to build a model of our village.
Other learning during the week has included identifying the moral of a story during film literacy, learning about the past tenses of verbs in grammar, and having Emil teach us some Norwegian numbers.
Next week we are looking forward to working more on our village topic with P5B. Some members of the class have been selected to take part in a drama workshop, and we are also excited to hear about their progress.
