Snow here it is – Merry Christmas

This week in P5A has been very festive as we are counting down to Christmas and the holidays. We have continued to read The Christmasaurus and have learnt some new words by playing the dictionary race game. Some examples are: debris, immature, consumption and garish. In The Christmasaurus, William and the dinosaur feel lonely and deflated because they are different. We talked about the importance of being kind to others, and to practise this we wrote a kind note to someone in the class, which we then scrunched up and threw across the room to them like a snowball. In writing, we wrote newspaper articles in groups of 2 and 3, reporting on the events of chapter 21-24 in our novel.

In numeracy, we learned about line graphs, pictograms and bar graphs and used our knowledge to create graphs showing the consumption of crumpets in the North Pole Ranch.

It has been a very Christmassy week in King’s Park P.S. as on Monday we went to the Church to see the P1/2 nativity performance and we all enjoyed it, especially those of us with younger siblings who were taking part. On Wednesday we had our Christmas lunch, where P7 looked after us very well. We also took part in the Christmas Top 10 and it was amazingly fun! We are looking forward to our visit to Archview Care Home next Tuesday and have been practising our Christmas songs. We’re also looking forward to our Christmas party!

Have a good weekend!
