Dear Parents and Carers,
In possibly the most hectic week of Primary 5 so far, this week P5b all went skiing for the first time as a class! When we first arrived we had to take our shoes off and were given skis and our ski boots. We found it quite challenging to put our boots and skis on but once we were ready we went to the slopes. Once there, we put one ski on and practiced sliding round in a circle to help get our balance and get used to the skis. We then practiced side stepping up the slope and once we got there we glided down on one ski. Some of us, including Miss Griffith, ended up falling but it was great fun. We look forward to returning next week! Some of our more experienced skiers went on two skis, went higher up the slope and got used to skiing again by developing our skills.
After skiing we were lucky enough to go to the gym hall and watch the P6 and P7 Beauty and the Beast performance which was absolutely brilliant! All the characters and acting performers were amazing. It had humorous parts, sad parts, scary parts and parts we didn’t expect. Our class would like to single out Lumeire (Alex) for being particularly brilliant with his French accent and Gaston (Harry) for his swagger at playing his part.
This week in Kingsville we had to think about what houses our characters could move into. For example if they were quite wealthy they might buy a detached house, the elderly might want to move into a bungalow and a flat might be ideal for a younger family. We then looked at a cross section of different types of houses and began to design our own.
We hope you’ve enjoyed our review and your Monday off! We look forward to skiing next week and May the 4th be with you!
