Dear Parents and Carers

This week we have been very busy! On Tuesday with Mrs Dunn we looked at Sudoku puzzles. This is where you place the numbers 1-9 in each row, column and box and you can’t have the same number twice. This was a really challenging problem solving task but we enjoyed it anyway!

We have also had RME with Mr Fruisch where we discussed what makes a good neighbour. We heard a Bible story about a Good Samaritan where three robbers stole a wealthy man’s possessions and abandoned him at the side of the road. He was ignored by several members of the community but was helped out by a man who would normally be his enemy. The moral of the story is that anyone can be a good neighbour and we should all look after each other. After we discussed the story we completed a scene from the text.

In PE with Mrs Campbell we have been learning about Scottish social dancing. This is where you dance with a partner to Scottish songs such as the Canadian Barn Dance, The Flying Scotsman and the Military Two Step. This is some excellent preparation for our upcoming Christmas party!

Last week we had our Literacy and Languages week and we have enjoyed listening to and presenting our findings about famous Scots this week! P5b have discussed famous Scots such as: Gordon Ramsay, William Wallace, Ewan McGregor, Danny MacAskill and Sir Chris Hoy along with many, many more!

We are already looking forward to next week which is shaping up to be another busy one! Our choir are working hard to perfect their performance for our end of year show and visiting Archview. We are delighted that Amelie and Hannah have been selected to sing solos as part of our end of year show!

Hopefully you are all beginning to feel very festive and have your decorations up! Enjoy your weekend.
