P2c Busy January

P2c have had a very busy January. We had many discussions and shared our interesting written news of our Christmas holiday. We have been writing thank you letters. We enjoyed our literacy study of ‘The Snowman’ and ‘The Snowman and the Snowdog’, made a display of our snowy forest art work relating to the stories and did drama and dance to the ‘Walking In The Air’ music. We wrote instructions on how to build a snowman.

We have started our Dinosaur topic and have discussed what we want to find out and have been using our reference books, posters and the internet to find many facts about dinosaurs. Some pupils have brought interesting books, a dinosaur tooth and fossils to share with the class. In maths we are learning about measure and will find out how we can measure dinosaur length, height and the area of dinosaur footprints. We look forward to learning about fossils, different types of dinosaur, where they lived, how they became extinct and making dinosaur chalk drawings in the playground in dry weather.
