P2b have been very busy this term. We have been learning about report writing following our museum visit and letter writing. We wrote letters to Nessie the Loch Ness monster asking lots of interesting questions. We have put adjectives on our Literacy wall display and used adjectives to describe dinosaur features and sizes, shapes, patterns and colours. We were awarded Star Writer certificates for our super dinosaur topic and personal News writing. In art we made rubbings of fossils, pencil drawings of model dinosaurs and did dinosaur paintings and worked as a team to design chalk drawings in the playground. We have been reading lots of information about dinosaurs from books, posters and the internet. In maths we made a bar graph of our favourite dinosaur and have been learning about measuring footprints and skeletons. We learned about classifying dinosaurs into different groups by their features. We had a visit from a Paleontologist who did experiments to show how herbivores break down leaves using their teeth or stomach stones and have enjoyed and learned information from looking at dinosaur fossils which are millions of years old!
