P2A have had lots of fun learning during Numeracy and Maths week!
We have linked Numeracy and Maths to our topic of the dinosaurs! We used our dinosaur factfiles to measure out the T Rex and Triceratops using metre sticks and trundle wheels in the playground. We couldn’t believe the size of the T-Rex! We also estimated how many children could fit into the dinosaur footprint.
We had fun with shapes and made dinosaur pictures and models whilst learning 2d and 3d shape names and properties. Thanks to Mrs Shaw for helping us. We shared our success with others during huddle.
We also learnt how to gather and sort information to sort dinosaurs by what they eat, using the terms carnivore and herbivore.
We worked on our knowledge of counting in 2s, 5s and 10s (forwards and backwards) in a fun smartboard game.
Maths and numeracy can be so much fun!
