King's Park Primary School

This week in P1A

First of all we would like to say a huge “thank you”, to the grown-ups who came to work with us at our maths and numeracy open morning! We really enjoyed having you in class and showing you some of the games and activities that we regularly do during our rotations.

This week the boys and girls really enjoyed doing some messy numeracy!

“We were practising our ‘before’ and ‘after’ numbers.”

“We really like using the shaving foam to write our answers!”

The children were really engaged and keen to participate in this activity – we will be doing more of this in class. Perhaps you could use things from home to do similar activities – paint, water and flour all work well too!

E.g “What is the number that comes after 14?” – and the children would write the number 15 in the foam.

The children have also been working in the ICT suite again this week. We have been working on our mouse control by decorating some Steven Brown inspired cows on the computers.
