This week in Primary 1C we have been learning some special friend sounds. Special friend sounds are when two letters make one sound. This week we have learned qu, ee, and oo. We also practised our cutting skills to make crowns for queens!
Using Fred Talk we marked single letter sounds and special friend sounds to help us read words.
We also collaborated with our learning partners to listen for sounds to write sentences.
In numeracy we have been continuing to count forwards and backwards starting at different numbers e.g. 8,9, 10 / 21, 20,19 …
We played games to order numbers from smallest to largest/largest to smallest too.
On Thursday we did some Yoga! Yoga helps our concentration skills and helps to develop bodily awareness. We really enjoyed it and have asked to do more of it :).
Throughout the week we have been asking why people are wearing flowers. We watched video clips from Poppy Scotland to learn about Remembrance Day. After, we created beautiful poppies of our own focusing on colour.
