Fantastic learning took place in P1C this week!
We collaborated like Tim The Team Player to build towers/castles “like the one from Hotel Transylvania” (we were definitely in the Halloween spirit!)
In addition to this we made funny pumpkin faces! We have spoken a lot about facial expressions in our writing plans (e.g. a time when I happy/sad/surprised…) so we made pumpkin faces and have asked people to guess how each pumpkin is feeling and what facial clues make them think this. Can you guess each pumpkin’s emotion?
To support our reading skills we were learning how to complete cloze procedures by identifying then writing the missing word. E.g.:
Key words: Everyone, he, Kipper, got
______ got his toys.
We put ‘Fred in your head’ into practice by sounding out then spelling some words…
We looked at division (sharing) in numeracy. For example we practised making 3 groups of 2 and 2 groups of 3 and discussed how these were different: “If there were 2 groups you’d get more smarties each than if there were 3 groups because then you’d only get 2 smarties each.”
