Numeracy/Maths
“If I have *7* counters under the screen and I add 5 more counters, how many do I have altogether? Let’s check…” Questions like these help us count on from a particular number.
We’re also beginning to add 2 numbers when both collections of counters are screened. “If I have 6 counters under here and 5 counters under here, how many do I have altogether? How do you know? Let’s check…”
“I know 5 and 5 is 10 so you just add 1 more.”

PE
In P.E we have been learning how to throw chest passes, bounce passes and catch. We have also been learning some games which involve throwing/catching for us to play in the playground.
Mrs. Tait has been teaching us all about balance. We tested our balance by walking a tight-rope…
Monster Points
We have introduced monster points in the classroom to embed the ‘language of learning’. We are beginning to understand that this is a TEAM effort, not an individual effort of who has the most points! We will all be rewarded when the whole class reaches a certain number of points 🙂 Points are awarded when we display certain learner qualities e.g. using our imagination, managing a distraction, working as part of a team, learning from our mistakes etc… This is not a behaviour system, and no points would ever be taken away!
