King's Park Primary School

This week In Nursery -1st-5th October

Upcoming dates

Careers in Care (CiC) programme

This was a great success and the children from both nursery and Primary 6 worked extremely well together and had lots of fun.  Well done to everyone involved. (please see children’s learning post)

*Reminder* – Parent consultation starting next week.

This is an opportunity to speak to your child’s key worker to see how they have settled into nursery. These will take place within the nursery session.  Please sign up on the sheet located on the wall above the children’s pegs. Please speak to a member of staff if these dates or times are not suitable.

Community Event- Thursday 4th October

Session 1 – 10:30am – 12:00pm (11:30am for nursery)/ Session 2 – 1:30pm – 3:00pm

During Session 1 and Session 2 parents/carers/family are invited to come into their child’s classroom. The purpose of this time is for children to share the learning that has been going on during this term around our community project.

Forest Kindergarten litter pick- Saturday 6th Oct

We would love to see as many parents/ carers and children there as possible. There will be bacon rolls and a hot drink provided afterwards.

*Missing Wellies*

A pair of Moana wellie have gone missing from nursery.  These wellies are clearly named and are a size 9.  There was a pair at nursery but they were the wrong ones.  Could you please check at home in case they have been taken by accident?

Toys from home

Could we please ask that you do not allow your child to bring toys in from home as they are getting lost or broken and the children are getting upset.

Nursery garden

Could we please ask that do not allow your child to play in the nursery garden before or after their session as this could be set up ready for the next session?

Parent helpers

We welcome parents’ to come in and help in the nursery.  This could be on a regular basis, part of a session or a one off.  There is a calendar located on the information board, so if you would like to help please add you name to this. Thanks for your continued support, if you have any questions please let us know.

Clothing

As part of the nursery day we have to offer the children a full range of experiences, inside and out, the children will therefore be able to access the garden in all weathers. Please can you ensure your child has a change of clothes with them every day, a waterproof jacket and wellies. We do have a small stock of waterproof trousers and a couple of pairs of wellies, but if you could provide your child with their own, that would be great.

Family Photo’s

Please could you hand in a family photo (including pets) to go up on our family tree? The children have been busy drawing pictuires of their families within mark making.

Phone calls home

It is the school policy when a child has an injury to their face or head regardless of the severity, we are required to make a phone call home. This will also be recorded on an accident or incident from at nursery which you will be asked to sign.  If you have any questions regarding this please speak to a member of staff.
