King's Park Primary School

This Week In Nursery

Upcoming dates:

Please can we ask parents to make sure their child has sunscreen applied before nursery each day and a sun hat as hopefully the weather is finally getting better!

Staffing

We have recently appointed two permanent members of staff.  Lara Morris will now be with us on a permanent basis and Lauren Rao has been newly appointed and will start with us as soon as possible.  Lara Morris will continue in the orange group.

P1 Transition

We look forward to seeing our Pre-school Parents on Tuesday 22nd May for the P1 Information Night.  Please keep the letter you received about the Transition Programme safe for information about all the dates.

Sports Day

Sports Day will be held on Friday 1st June within the normal session at 10:15-11:15 for the morning session and 1-2pm for the afternoon session if you would like to come and watch. (Friday 8th will be our ‘2nd attempt day’ in the event of rain stopping proceedings on the 1st!)

School Fayre

We hope as many of you as possible come along to support our School Fayre on Saturday 2nd June from 10am—12.30pm.  We will have our own stall in the Nursery Garden this year so please also pay us a visit!  This will involve planting seedlings so please keep any yoghurt pots and hand them in for us to use.

Summer Trip

After such positive feedback regarding our Summer Trip to Dalkeith Country Park last year, we are going to return this year again on Wednesday 13th June.  This will take place during the normal Nursery session times.  We hope you can join us that day!  More information will follow shortly.

End of Year Reports

You will receive an end of year report if you have a child in their Pre-school year.  Their Learning Journal will be sent home alongside this for you to look at with your child.

Parent Consultations

You will have another opportunity to meet with your child’s Key-Worker if you have a child in their ante-Pre-school year.  You will have received their learning journals home by now for you to have looked at in advance.  Consultations will take place week beginning 21st May. Please sign up on the timetable located on the information board.

Snack Money

Just a reminder that snack money is £2 per week.  If you have not paid this term, please do so by the end of the week.  Please ask a member of staff if you have any questions.

Pick up and Drop off

A number of children are being dropped off and collected out with the designated times.  This is becoming quite disruptive to the running of the session as a member of staff has to stop what they are doing with the children to keep answering the door.  Please can we ask you to stick to the designated times and only collect your child out with these times in exceptional circumstances.  Furthermore, if you are collecting your child at a different time, please let a member of staff know in advance if possible.  Thanks for your cooperation and understanding in this matter.

Reminder of the nursery session times:

Am: 8:30am- 11:40am

Doors open 8:30am-8:50 for drop off and 11:25-11:40 for collection

All the children should be off the premises by 11:40 so staff are able set up for the next session and have their lunch.

Pm : 12:25pm-3:35pm

Doors open 12:25pm-12:45pm and 3:20pm-3:35pm

All the children should be off the premises by 3:35pm so staff are able to attend meetings.

 Buggies

Please could we ask that you don’t not bring buggies into the nursery due to fire regulations and safety of the children.  Also please use the bike park just outside the nursery to park scooters, bikes and buggies.  It may be an idea to bring a bike lock.

Nursery garden

Please can we ask you to not allow your children to play in the nursery garden before or after their session as it may be set up for the next session and there may also be equipment out that requires adult supervisor.  Please could you ensure the nursery gate is closed at all times.

If your child is going to be absent from nursery for any reason please could you let us know by phoning us on 0131 271 4611 (nursery direct number) or on 0131 271 4610 (school office).

Website Please take a look at the schools website. http://kingspark.mgfl.net/. Here you will find information on what the children have been learning this week with some lovely pictures.

Many thanks for your continued support and please speak to a member of staff if you have any questions.

Learning going forward
