Staffing

We have recently appointed two permanent members of staff.  Lara Morris will now be with us on a permanent basis and Lauren Rao has been newly appointed and will start with us as soon as possible.

As previously communicated, until the Summer, Lauren Rao will work alongside our MA Caroline Calder in the Green Group.  Lara Morris will continue in the orange group.

P1 Transition

We look forward to seeing our Pre-school Parents on Tuesday 22nd May for the P1 Information Night.  Please keep the letter you received about the Transition Programme safe for information about all the dates.

Sports Day

Sports Day will be held on Friday 1st June.  We will confirm times in due course.  Friday 8th will be our ‘2nd attempt day’ in the event of rain stopping proceedings on the 1st!

 School Fayre

We hope as many of you as possible come along to support our School Fayre on Saturday 2nd June from 10am—12.30pm.  We will have our own stall in the Nursery Garden this year so please also pay us a visit!  This will involve planting seedlings so please keep any yogurt pots and hand them in for us to use.

Summer Trip

After such positive feedback regarding our Summer Trip to Dalkeith Country Park last year, we are going to return this year again on Wednesday 13th June.  This will take place during the normal Nursery session times.  We hope you can join us that day!  More information will follow shortly.

End of Year Reports

You will receive an end of year report if you have a child in their Pre-school year.  Their Learning Journal will be sent home alongside this for you to look at with your child.

Parent Consultations

You will have another opportunity to meet with your child’s Key-Worker if you have a child in their ante-Pre-school year.  Their Learning Journal will be sent home prior to this for you to have looked at in advance.  Consultations will take place week beginning 21st May.

Snack Money

Just a reminder that snack money is £2 per week.  If you have not paid this term, please do so by the end of the week.

Forest Kindergarten

Since starting the outdoor classroom we have seen significant benefits to the children both outside and within the nursery environment. The children are able to self regulate, risk assess their own play and develop a greater awareness of space and risk. They are developing new friendships, finding new confidences and developing all those gross motor skills movements that will aid them in their transitions to school and beyond. Thank you for your ongoing support.

Pick up and Drop off

A number of children are being dropped off and collected out with the designated times.  This is becoming quite disruptive to the running of the session as a member of staff has to stop what they are doing with the children to keep answering the door.  Please can we ask you to stick to the designated times and only collect your child out with these times in exceptional circumstances.  Furthermore, if you are collecting your child at a different time, please let a member of staff know in advance if possible.  Thanks for your cooperation and understanding in this matter.
