Children’s Learning

What a lovely week we have enjoyed. The children have all enjoyed Book week so much. They have dressed up as their favourite characters and enjoyed DEAR – Drop Everything And Read. We have enjoyed literacy in the woodland in the garden and in the classroom.

This week the staff have shared their love of stories with the children and brought in their favourite childhood stories to share. These have ranged from My Naughty Little Sister to Gingerbread man and the elves and the shoemaker.

The open day today was great fun and we would like to say a huge thank you to all the parents who came into stay and play. It was really lovely to see so many of you and we hope you enjoyed spending time with your little one in the nursery environment.  We have also been promoting our new Learning Library and are delighted to say that our goal of 90% of children taking home a book was achieved. We hope you all enjoy sharing them over the weekend and please continue to make full use of the library on a daily basis.  We have also started our adventure Ted now so we are really excited to hear what adventures the five bears have been up to over the last few days with the children who took them home.
