Children’s Learning

Now that winter is fully upon us the children have been observing the outdoors and noticing the change in temperature. Some of the children have been discussing what we wear in the winter? The subject also sparked interest in the mark making area where the children have been making their own gloves by drawing around their hands and designing their own gloves. A lovely display has been made is the mark making area with the children making winter clothes and the children’s voices about what they think they should wear in Winter.

Some of the children have had a great interest in plants and how they grow. In the discovery area the children have had the opportunity to plant bulbs and seeds and care for them throughout the week.

The children have been helping to plan to create a new story area for the nursery they used the floor book to share their ideas by drawing what it could look like and sharing their ideas with the staff.

We have also moved the borrowing library back in to the family room. This is available for all children and parents to use. We encourage parents to sign all books out and in. The room is also available to parents if they wish to use it during settling periods and meetings with key workers.

Forest school have started back this week and the children and staff had a busy week tidying up the forest due to lots of rubbish being left . Next week the children will be making posters to encourage public users to bin their rubbish and keep our woods tidy.

We would be really grateful if parents, carers, grandparent could please save their boxes etc for the children modelling. Thank you
