Children’s Learning

We would once again like to say a huge thank you to you all for your contributions to the nursery bake sale. Our final total was an astounding £283 ! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

The children’s interest has been focused on Space this week. We have discovered that in space everything floats! Even cookies in the oven! We have watched videos of various rocket launches in NASA and the children have created an amazing display in the nursery.

We have also begun our Eco Committee display. If the children wish to bring anything from home to add to this that would be great. Could we also ask for junk modelling items that can be recycled here. The boys have been particularly interested in how the lorry scoops up the rubbish and pushes in all inside the lorry that suddenly looks empty!

We will continue this with the children but would love your input from home too. Pictures of the children being eco minded at home would be lovely to add to the display.

We have enjoyed a great deal of puddle play this week, though we know that hasn’t been easy for your washing machine the potential of a puddle is too great. The children have enjoyed this so much and have put our wet suits to good use.

We have made lots of firework pictures and enjoyed lots of stories from the children about the bonfires they have attended. Discussions about staying safe and having good listening when out in the dark has been a top topic.

Over the next few weeks we will be practicing the songs for our nativity performance, we are already looking forward to this and hope you enjoy the practice at home!
