Internet Safety – Age Restricted Apps

Internet security is a very important issue at King’s Park and we hope every child has a safe and happy experience whilst using the internet.  However, we are becoming increasingly aware of a number of issues that are occurring between pupils outside of school through various modes of Social Media.  Whilst we teach our pupils about Internet Safety, and try to make them aware of their digital footprint, we are conscious that most of the apps that the issues are occurring on are those with age restrictions beyond the age of our pupils.

Making sure children are accessing age appropriate content is important as part of our role to educate pupils to become responsible internet users.  Below is a link which takes you to an overview of the most popular apps, detailing their age restrictions and also an ‘At a Glance’ guide which details the main risks associated with each app.
